ASSOCIATION TALILT
Presentation
of the Talilt Association

TALILT ASSOCIATION
The Talilt Association
was established with the aim of helping
improve the condition of women in the
settlements of the AOURGA region.
The women belonging to the Talilt
association mostly work from home, in
various sectors: tailoring/dressmaking,
embroidery, crochet, tkrir, randa, rbati...
The purchase of supplies, as well as cutting
and sewing of clothes are carried out at the
workshop located at the Association’s
headquarters by women from Agadir, while
embroidery work is carried out by women from
the Aourga region (a rural region, in which
Talilt operates).
Currently, a number of activities are under
way: "White hands" project at Aourga,
literacy season 2006-2007 in two villages,
vocational training at Aourga, etc.
Fatima SAADI,
Coordinator of the Talilt Association,
illustrates the training sessions provided
by PlaNet Finance Maroc:

The management training courses provided to
us have enabled us to improve use of the
computer for managing the association,
especially as regards management of cash,
sales, expenses and bank transactions.
PlaNet Finance Maroc has given us a series
of recommendations for rearranging the
headquarters of our association: improved
organisation of our shop, better display of
products on racks with more space.

After PlaNet Finance
Maroc gave us the results of their
assessment, we decided to develop two
products in our workshop: the “Kmis” (see
photo) and the “Gandora simple”.
The importance of communication for our
association and the sale of products
underwent a specific assessment, on the
basis of which PlaNet Finance Maroc offered
us its help to design a business card and
labels for the food products sold at the
Talilt shop.
After having developed the Talilt product,
the same work involved the Al Oukhoua
association of Aïn Chaib, which also plans
to develop a new product: an embroidered
shirt: 'Torki'.
This common interest has led to cooperation
between the two associations: Talilt will
prepare the garments, while waiting for the
women of Aïn Chaib to take over all
production themselves.
Outlook:
At the end of this phase of support, new
challenges await us: production of Kmis and
Gandora in sufficient quantities (and range
of sizes, colours...), development of other
Talilt products, organisation of cooperation
with Ain Chaib (order, delivery, payment...)
and a cooperation project with the
association "Les Amis de l'Artisan", which
supports craft workers.
In conclusion, the action of PlaNet
Finance Maroc has been beneficial for Talilt.
They have supported and advised us in
certain activities we still missed, such as
IT management, participation in marketing
events outside Agadir, and training.
